D. ELEINNE BASA: Eleinne is a national award winning artist who was trained in the classical tradition of painting exclusively from life , which began at an early age of 7. Growing up in Manila, her parents entrusted her studies to a professional artist and professor who had been teaching young artists in a school which was geared towards cultivating young talents. She would study here till the age of 14 . When her family immigrated to the United States in 1994, she continued to hone her skills by visiting different museums and galleries and studying works of painters she admires like Sargeant, Sorolla , Zorn, Cassat and Payne. When Eleinne started to join local art organizations and started including her work in several juried shows, she immediately gained recognition. In 2002, she won a Grumbacher Gold Medallion at the Hudson Artists of Nj regional Exhibit . In 2004 and 2005 she was included in Juried shows of the American Artists Professional league. In July of 2006, she was juried into the national Easton Plein Air Competition where she won two honorable mention awards. She was sponsored a solo show at the Barron Arts Center that was held in August of 2006 and In 2007 She was juried into the prestigious Salon International held by the Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art. Her work has been exhibited in different venues like The Rowan University in Glassboro NJ, The Philippine Consulate in Ny, Ny, The Baron Arts Center in Wood bridge NJ, The Frederick Gallery in Allenhurst, NJ, The Guild of Creative Art in Redbank, Nj , The Louise Melrose gallery in Frenchtown, Nj, The Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme, Connecticut , The Greenhouse Gallery in san Antonio Texas, The Weatherburn Gallery in Naples, Florida and The Academy Art Museum in Easton , Maryland.. Currently, a member of several organizations like the Oil Painters of America and the Plein air Painters of the Jersey Coast, plein air painting has taken up most of her time. Eleinne continues to be active in juried and non juried exhibitions and paint outs, in and around the East Coast. She is currently represented by Peter McPhee Fine Arts in Stone Harbor, NJ.
